At Motcombe Alpacas our aim has always been to breed for temperament and quiet management, and this has paid off as we now have home bred alpacas that we can confidently let young children (and adults too!) play with and take for walks.
We have had excellent feedback from new owners of alpacas bred at Motcombe Farm.
... Because they are bewitching. Their gentle manner and their glorious, deep soft coats make them a favourite with everyone who comes into contact with them.
These beautiful, calm, graceful animals are highly intelligent and can learn quickly; they are a joy to be with.
Their low melodious mewing is very therapeutic and we have people recovering from illnesses coming and sitting in their cars just to watch the alpacas.
A ‘starter pack’ for first time alpaca buyers to learn and gain experience.
We currently have two mature pregnant females (one white, one black) who know the job and just get on with it. They have consistently produced cria who have done well in the show rings, and have the temperament we seek.

About us
Motcombe is a family-owned conservation farm on the edge of the Cotswolds north of Bath. The Alpacas enjoy the hills, which resemble in a gentle way the uplands of the Andes mountains in South America, from where they originate.
Our meadows are rich in wild flowers, herbs and grasses offering the alpacas a choice and keeping them naturally healthy.
